Anyone else starting to get the feeling not all is well at Stamford Bridge?

Despite being crowned Premier League champions just three months ago, the wheels of Antonio Conte's well-oiled machine have been seemingly coming off one by one ever since.

A star striker has been told he has no future at the club, the manager has struggled to land any of his first choice transfer targets and they had two men sent off during their opening day defeat to Burnley.

Conte really has got his work cut out, this time around.

The various injuries, suspensions and other unwanted absentees has left the Italian's squad looking a little thin. So with just a few more weeks until the transfer window closes, the Blues really don't have any time to waste.

Right-back is a position Conte has wanted to strengthen all summer but missed out on potential pursuits for Dani Alves, Danilo and even Kyle Walker.

However, the Chelsea boss hasn't completely given up hope of providing Victor Moses with stiffer competition this term.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues are preparing to make a move for Southampton's full-back Cedric Soares.

Since moving to St Mary's from Sporting Lisbon in 2015, Cedric has impressed in his 62 appearances for the south coast club.

The Portuguese ace was also part of the squad that won last year's European Championships and has been linked with a switch to Barcelona.

Nevertheless, Chelsea are ready to test Saints' resolve by launching an official bid believed to be worth no more than £15 million.

Given how reluctant Southampton have been to let any of their big names go this summer, you can't help but assume only an offer much higher than that will be required for the 25-year-old to leave.

Chelsea are also one of the teams monitoring the Virgil van Dijk situation. Whether that helps or hinders the pursuit of Cedric, though, only time will tell.
