With the release date approaching, NBA 2K18 player ratings are being revealed on a near-daily basis. On Tuesday, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade tweeted out the first-look images of him and buddy LeBron James. Not only did the tweet include the incredibly-realistic renderings of both players, but it also revealed their initial overall ratings, which also ended up resembling real life.LeBron’s 97 rating now makes him the highest-rated player in the game so far, one point ahead of Golden State Warriors star and Finals MVP Kevin Durant. The only player left who might be able to match or eclipse James’ rating is reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook, whose rating has not yet been released.Dwyane Wade was given an 84. He had a comical reaction to it on Twitter as well, as you can see below:

The small forward position in 2K is stacked so far. James and Durant lead the pack, but just behind them are Kawhi Leonard (95), Paul George (91) and Giannis Antetokounmpo. No shooting guard or power forward has passed the 90 threshold of the players that have been released so far, but Stephen Curry (94), Karl-Anthony Towns (91), Kyrie Irving (90) and John Wall (90) are the others to join them at or above 90.

Wade wasn’t done revealing exciting features of the new 2K game. He also tweeted out that he and Shaquille O’Neal, the two stars that led the Heat to their first NBA title in 2006, were named to the organization’s all-time team in the video game.

As you can see, Wade’s rating on the all-time team is 97, while Shaq’s is 89. That’s because at the time, over a decade ago, Wade was one of the best players in the NBA while O'Neal was still productive at the tail-end of his Hall of Fame career. Now, due to his age, wear and tear and the effects of injuries that he’s dealt with, his rating slipped due to his slightly-decreased on-court production in recent years. Fans will be able to enjoy the much-younger and dominant Wade on the all-time team.

Considering that there are still 13 more members of the Heat’s all-time team to be released, it will be fascinating to see who else is included and who ends up being snubbed.

There are many players to go, but pretty soon, all of the ratings will be released. If we've learned anything this offseason, it's that NBA players definitely care about their 2K ratings and aren't afraid to show it.
