Real Madrid looked unstoppable in their capture of the Spanish Super Cup.

Despite facing their fierce rivals Barcelona, the two-leg El Clasico clash was one-way traffic. Los Blancos romped their way to an emphatic 5-1 aggregate win, having claimed a 2-0 victory at the Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t available for part two of the competition having been sent off at the Nou Camp for two yellow cards. However, in his absence, Marco Asensio rose to the occasion.

The Spaniard has been making a name for himself with Real and has continued his rise with fantastic goals in both legs of the Super Cup.

His rifled near-post effort in Barcelona was certainly inspired but he outdid himself in front of a home crowd.

Cutting in on his left-foot, the 21-year-old beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen with an unbelievable 30-yard strike. The German shot stopper was completely rooted as the ball flew into the top corner.

It all but confirmed the title for Real and sent the crowd into raptures.

Zinedine Zidane was, expectedly, rather pleased on the sidelines too. The French manager has played a large role in Asensio breaking into the club’s first team and is reaping the benefits.

All that considered, he produced a simply brilliant celebration to his Spanish starlet’s strike. Check it out:

The Real boss simply raises his arms in adulation as if commending the strike but, really, expecting nothing less. He then proceeded to whip up the crowd who were already basking in a Catalan demolition.

It was a befitting reaction to a truly special goal.

Karim Benzema’s effort wasn’t quite as spectacular but put Real well and truly out of sight before halftime. Los Blancos looked far fitter than their rivals who were sluggish and labored in a three-at-the-back system.

Ernesto Valverde will be desperate to splurge the club’s Neymar money if they’re to recover from such a trouncing and regain their league title. Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho have been constantly linked with the club.

Right now, though, they might be wishing they had a certain Marco Asensio in their side. Period.
