Purdie hoping to get his chance

Oldham midfielder Rob Purdie insists he is fit and raring to go as he prepares to make his long-awaited debut for the club.

Purdie, 27, joined the Latics in the summer on a free transfer from Darlington but injuries have so far prevented from making a single appearance.

"I am keen as ever to play, so it's just a case of getting my head down and working hard in training," Purdie said. "I'm feeling quite sharp at the moment, and my versatility is always a benefit so I'm just waiting for an opportunity."
