Paulinho’s arrival at Barcelona has been met with mass disapproval from the club’s supporters. The Brazilian was unveiled at the Camp Nou today following his £36.5 million move from Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande.Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu has been accused of completing the sign to aid his own business interests, prompting the Spanish giants to threaten legal action. But it’s entirely understandable why Barcelona supporters would be fuming. This month alone they’ve sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, lost to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup and are yet to land either Ousmane Dembele or Philippe Coutinho. It was hardly the greatest timing for Barça to show off Paulinho then, less than 24 hours after they lost to Real 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu to complete a miserable 5-1 mauling.

Watch: Paulinho attempted kick-ups

Paulinho summed up the feelings of every Barcelona fan during his unveiling when he attempted some kick-ups in front of the press.

Last month, new Real Madrid signing Theo Hernandez was mocked for his woeful attempt at a few skills at his unveiling and, though Paulinho’s attempt isn’t as bad, it’s still prompted a funny reaction on Twitter.

Paulinho manages just a few kick-ups before losing control of the ball. Check out the clip below.

Fans have been quick to mock Paulinho, as the tweets below show. But the full video shows he was actually able to complete a number of kick-ups.

Paulinho: 'Coming here is a dream'

Of course, it would be unfair to judge Paulinho without seeing him in action.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will wear the number 15 shirt and will use Neymar’s old locker.

"It's a special moment for me,” Paulinho said at his introductory press conference, per Barcelona’s Twitter page. “I’m grateful and I thank everyone for their efforts.

"It's a very satisfying moment. The dream I have been looking for has come true. I will give everything.

"You have to face challenges with courage. I will try to do my job and I am prepared. Coming here is a dream.”

Paulinho's excited - but fans would prefer Coutinho

So Paulinho sounds excited to be a Barcelona player but it remains to be seen how much action he will get this season.

Coutinho’s possible arrival would probably reduce Paulinho’s minutes, something no Barcelona fan would be too disappointed by.

Nobody will ever forget Paulinho’s first day in a Barça shirt.
