Russell Westbrook was deservedly named as the league MVP last season after a historic campaign. The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar became just the second player to average a triple-double for a season following in the footsteps of Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson. The dynamic point guard also surpassed Robertson by putting up a record 42 triple-doubles in a single year.Westbrook broke multiple records and was also the scoring champion. He averaged an astonishing 36.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists and was a menace on the offensive end.The six-time All-Star also guided the Thunder to the playoffs and blossomed with the extra responsibility given to him due to Kevin Durant's departure to the Golden State Warriors.Russ is almost unguardable and is arguably the most explosive and athletic player the league has ever seen.Point guards who are matched up with him don't enjoy going up against him as he's a relentless force on the floor. With his fellow players finding it hard to handle him, could an athlete from another sport stand a chance?Well, if Westbrook accepts a challenge from former NFL star Chad Johnson, we might be able to find out.Johnson, who was one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the NFL, tweeted the OKC star challenging him to a game of one-on-one.

Since it was a strange and random request, Russ decided to reply by asking for some clarity.

The man who is formerly known as Chad Ochocinco had no problems making his request clear, confirming that he wanted a game of basketball and said Westbrook had no excuses since they were both in Los Angeles.

The MVP is yet to respond to this one-on-one challenge, publicly at least. Despite his silence, though, Johnson has been talking a good game.

He firstly replied to a Bleacher Report tweet that stated that the matchup needs to happen, saying: "Brodie don't want no smoke w/ these feet & quickness on the court."

He followed this up by claiming that he's had joy previously playing one-on-one against some of the league's top superstars.

"Ask Paul George, Melo, D Wade & Lebron what happen playing me 1 on 1, I get buckets until they started cheating using post moves."

This suggests his meetings with those players didn't end well, unsurprisingly.

There aren't many players more competitive than Westbrook so it'll be interesting to see if he accepts the offer by Johnson. We'll keep an eye out for it.
