Safe to say football fans are completely split over Liverpool's decision to reject Barcelona's £118 million bid for Philippe Coutinho.

While Liverpool supporters are in agreement that Coutinho must be kept at all costs this summer, neutral fans insist they should have taken the money and ran.

With that kind of cash, Jurgen Klopp could sign one or two world-class replacements for Coutinho to bolster his squad.

But the German wants his star man to stay and recently explained why he doesn't think any of Liverpool's players should want to leave right now.

"I think for each player Liverpool is a very good club, a very good team in the moment," he said earlier this week.

"We have a good age of the group. We have very young boys, experience - it's a good mix and we are on our way.

"I think we got of rid of the expectations of 20 years ago and created our own expectations for all the people. They expect a lot from us because of what we did last season.

"I am fine with the situation and I am very positive about the project of Liverpool. I don't see a lot of reasons for each player to leave the club at the moment and that’s just in general."

Klopp believes Liverpool are on to something special, but according to the Times' Paul Joyce, Coutinho isn't interested.

Coutinho has his heart set on joining Barcelona this summer and has now reacted to his club rejecting a third bid from the Blaugrana.

Joyce reports that Coutinho has told Klopp he never wants to play for Liverpool again in light of their decision to block him from moving to Spain.

Quite how Klopp reacted to Coutinho's threat remains to be seen but, if true, it's pretty unprofessional from the Brazil international.

Liverpool may be stopping him from joining Barcelona, but it's important to remember he wouldn't be where he is today without the Reds.

Coutinho was signed as an unknown quantity in 2013 and because of the faith shown in him has developed into of the world's best in his position.

He owes a lot to the club and should show more respect.
