Laws: We can't carry players

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws admitted he would have gladly used all seven of his substitutes if he was allowed to as West Brom cruised to a 4-0 win at Hillsborough.

Captain Tommy Spurr was substituted soon after the third goal went in, and it was not long before Jermaine Johnson and top scorer Marcus Tudgay were hauled off too.

Laws said: "You can't carry one player let alone 10. I would have put on all seven subs if I could. I think that's one of the worse performances we have put in."

He added: "We have to make it a one-off. We have a huge game coming up against Reading and it's all out to get three points.

"We need to work on doing the basics right. A result like this does drag you into the relegation situation without a doubt."
