New season, same old Arsenal. The Gunners put their fans through the wringer in last week's 4-3 victory over Leicester City and if that wasn't enough evidence of Arsenal's vulnerabilities, they cropped up once again this afternoon.Aside from last season's 4-1 win at the Bet365 Stadium, Arsenal have never enjoyed their trips to Stoke. And so watching Arsene Wenger's side go down 1-0 wasn't entirely surprising.Jese Rodriguez, who completed his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain this week, scored the only goal to hand Mark Hughes' side their first win of the season. Arsenal huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser but were denied by a mixture of missed opportunities, great saves from Jack Butland and a controversial decision from the linesman.Alexandre Lacazette thought he made it 1-1 when he smashed home a wonderful left-footed effort.

It appeared to be the goal that levelled the match but the linesman on the near side raised his flag, deeming the Frenchman offside.

It was a very, very tight call. Arsenal fans will say Lacazette was in line with his marker, their rivals will say the £46.5 million man's right foot was offside.

Make your own mind up.

Piers Morgan posted two tweets

Piers Morgan, whose feelings towards Arsene Wenger are well known, responded with a furious tweet in which he labelled the linesman an “imbecile”.

“That was a brilliant ONSIDE goal,” he wrote. “Linesman, you are an imbecile.”

Morgan, upon realising that Lacazette was probably offside, posted another tweet that was laced with sarcasm.

He wrote: "My apologies, linesman. Apparently your telescopic eyesight enabled you to see Lacazette's heel was 40 millimetres offside."

Stoke were able to hold on for all three points and there's now plenty of excitement following Jese's impressive performance.

The 24-year-old was making his first appearance since completing his surprise move from Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes spoke of his delight after completing the loan signing.

“I think we can give him a platform here to really enjoy himself,” Hughes said, per the Daily Mail.

“Everyone is excited to see him play. He is an elite player, a top-level player and you don't get too many opportunities to bring players like him to the club, so when you do you should enjoy it.”

And it hasn't taken long for the former Real Madrid forward to delight Stoke’s fans.
