WWE SummerSlam is literally just hours away so naturally there is going to be hype around any usual superstar from past, present, or future seen around the New York area across the weekend. One of the past superstars that has been spotted is The Undertaker, who hasn't made an appearance for the WWE since his loss in the main event of WrestleMania 33 to Roman Reigns which many believe to be his last match before retirement. However, that might not be the case, as he was spotted this past Friday on a plane going to New York. Before people say it might have just been a lookalike, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio has confirmed it was actually The Deadman in the photo.

So The Undertaker is definitely heading to New York, and he will most likely be doing some sort of work for the WWE while he is in the area, but to what capacity he will be used remains a mystery for the moment.

According to Meltzer, there are two possible ways which the WWE could be using The Phenom this SummerSlam weekend.

The Wrestling Observer Radio host said, via Wrestling Inc, that WWE could be having The Undertaker interfere in the Fatal 4-Way match between Brock Lesnar, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

The Deadman would interfere by costing The Big Dog an opportunity to win the Universal title as an act of revenge for his WrestleMania 33 loss back in April earlier this year. Meltzer also noted that Taker could be there doing work for a WWE video or something along those lines, and not be returning on-camera.

Until the SummerSlam graphic card appears at the end of the show and the screen fades to black, WWE fans will be on the edge of their seat in anticipation for the possible return of The Deadman for the first time since WrestleMania, but due to his age and recently having hip replacement surgery.

Still, there is a story arc there for The Undertaker to return and feud with Reigns after what happened earlier this year, and WWE has been dabbling on the lines that The Phenom may not actually be retired, as they never actually confirmed it.

We'll just have to wait and see if The Undertaker does make his WWE return at SummerSlam to get his revenge on Roman Reigns.
