Morecambe could be boosted by the return of skipper Jim Bentley for the visit of promotion-chasing Bury.

Bentley is in line for a recall after recovering from a calf injury which has sidelined him for the Shrimps' past three matches.

If the defender is given the green light to play, he is likely to be the only change from the starting line-up which triumphed 4-0 at Darlington.

Long-term absentee Manny Panther remains sidelined, along with fellow midfielder Fraser McLachlan, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Bury, who are seven places above Morecambe in the League Two table, will be favourites but they have lost their past four away matches and have never won at Christie Park.

For the Shakers, Ben Futcher is expected to step in for the injured Ryan Cresswell.

Cresswell damaged his ankle ligaments in last Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Chesterfield and is set to be sidelined for another five weeks.

However, manager Alan Knill is unlikely to make any other alterations to the XI that started against the Spireites as Bury look to continue their 11-match unbeaten run in League Two and cement their place in the play-off positions.

Daniel Nardiello and Andy Morrell, who have scored five goals between them in the past three games, are to continue in attack as a number of other forwards remain sidelined through injury.

Andy Bishop is still a week or two away from returning to action, Ryan Lowe is expected to be out for another week while Danny Carlton is not expected to return until the new year.
