Phil Jevons took his tally for the season to 11 with two goals as Morecambe made it five wins in a row with a 3-0 victory over Bury.

Jevons, who had a spell on loan with the Shakers last season, was the star of the show as Alan Knill's side lost for the first time in 12 games.

The hosts went ahead on the hour mark from the penalty spot. Will Haining's header towards goal struck Bury defender Tom Newey on the arm and Jevons sent Wayne Brown the wrong way from 12 yards.

Seven minutes later it was 2-0 for the Shrimps as they had a huge slice of luck. Jevons was again involved with a cross from the right that was heading for Paul Mullin until Bury defender Ben Futcher intervened to head past his own keeper who was left flat-footed in the process.

Jevons sealed his brace 10 minutes from time when he was left unmarked at the far post to poke home Michael Twiss's pinpoint left-wing cross.
