The longest reigning current champion in WWE continues her title reign of over 500 days and moves forward looking as undefeatable as ever.

Her latest title defense against Ember Moon at Takeover Brooklyn III saw her pushed to the limit though and has ended up costing her more than originally thought.

WWE confirmed on Monday that Asuka suffered a broken collarbone during the match and will now be out of action for 6-8 weeks.

Asuka is certainly an NXT favourite and is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, leaving the immediate future of the title in doubt.

The next Takeover special is set to take place in November - one night before Survivor Series which means that the NXT Women's Champion has plenty of time to recover before the show.

But NXT possibly having to cope without one of it's biggest names for the better part of two months is a big blow.

Asuka's feud with Ember Moon has certainly captivated the NXT Universe and if the two are to continue their rivalry, it will have to wait several weeks.

A big move on the horizon

As with any superstar, fans are constantly questioning when Asuka may leave NXT and head to the main roster.

While she dominates in NXT, matches against superstars like Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Naomi and Nia Jax is certainly enough for fans to support her moving up.

She will need to lose her title first though, meaning that her call up may be a while off - the same however, can't be said for former NXT Champion Bobby Roode.

Since losing his title on Saturday, Roode has been linked with a move to the main roster and Smackdown is being rumoured as the preferred landing spot for the Glorious One.

Roode would certainly prove to be a popular heel superstar on the main roster, particularly with Smackdown lacking in that area.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin may be the biggest heels on the show, but with Corbin rumoured to be under pressure backstage, Roode is viewed as his replacement in the top spot.
