For the first time since his return to Smackdown Live, John Cena exercised his Free Agent status and moved over to Monday Night RAW.

Cena isn't signed to either show exclusively and even though since he returned, he has feuded with Baron Corbin and Rusev on Smackdown, he now appears to have moved to the red brand.

Angle's big surprise

RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced his move on RAW and when the 16 time World Champion appeared, he made a big announcement.

Cena made his first appearance on RAW since before last year's WWE Draft on Monday night and he had his eyes set on one RAW superstar.

Cena would claim to the fans that he came to RAW to be face to face with one man in particular.

Enter, Roman Reigns...

Reigns would come to the ring and find himself face to face with the 16 time champion who was desperate to meet him.

Two of the most polarising figures in WWE stood opposite each other in the ring when they were joined by another man who gets the WWE Universe very animated, the Miz.

Miz would shout some home truths to Reigns and Cena and would get a lot of encouragement from the fans in attendance.

It would lead to Cena suggesting a tag team match in which he and Reigns would take on Miz and one member of the Miztourage.

That idea would be rejected by Miz and the arrival of Samoa Joe put the Samoan Submission Machine into the RAW main event.

Cena and Reigns would get the win but not without a tease of a future clash between the two.

Obstacles to overcome

Miz and Samoa Joe interrupting the first meeting between Reigns and Cena could be a sign of things to come over the next few months.

Reigns and Cena are expected to face each other but it has long been thought that it would take place at WrestleMania.

Monday's episode of RAW could be the foundations for two interesting feuds however with Samoa Joe possibly challenging Cena and Roman Reigns possibly going after the Miz's Intercontinental Championship.
