The war of words between Anthony Joshua and Tyson fury has continued, with the World Champion branding The Gypsy King an 'idiot'.

Joshua was speaking to rapper 'Huntaman' on an Instagram video, where he confirmed the suspicions of many that he would be fighting a mandatory challenger next, the Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev.

After confirming Pulev was on the cards, Huntaman asked about a potential fight with Fury, to which Joshua said "Fury's an idiot. You can put that out there."

Both Fury and Joshua have exchanged words in the past over a potential Battle of Britain between the pair.

In fact in May, Fury claimed that Eddie Hearn has already booked Wembley stadium for next April.

Whilst a fight between the two British heavyweights would drum up a huge amount of interest, there are a number of obstacles to overcome before it could become a reality.

Whilst Fury was back in training earlier in the year, joining Billy Joe Saunders in Marbella, he remains without a boxing licence after well publicised mental health problems, that culminated in the drug use that saw him banned.

Joshua has shown interest in fighting Fury, and called him out after his famous win against Klitschko.

That said, Fury will need to work very hard to regain his fitness as well his licence, and would most likely need a couple of comeback fights before taking on such a huge task as AJ.

If anything, Joshua's comments are further confirmation that Fury's lack of readiness for a big fight has seen him slip down the pecking order for a World Title shot.

The desire to see it happen is unlikely to go away, though, and should Fury manage to claw himself back into contention, you can be sure that Eddie Hearn will view it as a payday that has to happen, and a potentially wonderful night for British boxing.
