Paul Robinson made two saves in a penalty shoot-out which ended 4-3 as Blackburn progressed to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup at the expense of Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea.
England goalkeeper Robinson saved kicks from Michael Ballack and Gael Kakuta after a 3-3 draw at Ewood Park.
The match was 2-2 after 90 minutes and Benni McCarthy edged Rovers ahead in extra-time before Paulo Ferreira forced the shoot-out with a goal in the last seconds of the additional period.
