It has been a very frustrating few weeks for Barcelona after the club were plunged in to uncertainty by the departure of Neymar.

The Brazilian superstar joined Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth £197m and ever since, the Blaugrana have been desperately searching for new players to fill the void left by the enigmatic winger.

As of yet they have had no luck at all, with their pursuits of Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Jean Michael Seri all grinding to a halt in recent days.

Their respective clubs have not caved in to the Spanish giants and now, Ernesto Valverde's side face the reality of falling further behind their bitter rivals, Real Madrid.

The transfer window closes on August 31, leaving Barca with very little time with which to begin a pursuit of a new target capable of matching the likes of Neymar.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard had been touted with a potential move but now, the Blaugrana have switched their attention to one of the Belgian's teammates.

According to France Football, the La Liga side will look to bring in Brazilian forward Willian before the window shuts.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man has enjoyed a very successful spell with the Blues and was voted the club's player of the season in 2015/16.

However, last campaign, the Brazilian was often condemned to the bench to accommodate Antonio Conte's favoured pairing of Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez behind Diego Costa.

Willian has started all competitive fixtures this season, but this is likely due to the fact that Chelsea have had serious injury issues in the forward areas.

If he were to make the move to Catalonia, a starting berth would surely be handed to him straight away with the likes of Denis Suarez, Arda Turan and Gerard Deulofeu not at the required standard to even begin replacing Neymar.

It would certainly be a big blow to Conte's squad but given the fact they sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, a deal could happen.
