If Liverpool thought Barcelona would finally leave them alone after they rejected their third offer for Philippe Coutinho, they were wrong.

According to Sky Sports, Barcelona are preparing a fourth bid of £138 million as they continue to chip away at Liverpool’s defences.

Sky Sports’ correspondent Kaveh Solhekol reports that the Reds have already warned Barcelona not to offer £138m because they wouldn’t even consider selling for £150m.

Liverpool have managed to last until the final few days of the transfer window and it would pain their fans to see Coutinho leave now.

That’s despite the 25-year-old’s desire to play for Barcelona. He submitted a transfer request earlier in the month in an attempt to force a move to the Camp Nou.

But that proved unsuccessful. Fenway Sports Group have no interest in selling and care little for Coutinho’s wishes.

Which is what could cause the Brazilian playmaker to go public with his discontent at his current situation.

Coutinho is planning to go public

That is according to Duncan Castles, who claims sources have informed him that Coutinho is now preparing to talk to the press in order to express his unhappiness with FSG and Jurgen Klopp’s handling of the transfer saga.

Castles adds that Coutinho could go through with his plan, in which he also plans to reveal his desire to leave Liverpool, should the club reject a fourth bid from Barcelona.

“Coutinho is willing to say that Liverpool is making his life miserable and that he wants to leave,” a source said.

“He has been very patient, but at the end of the day it is his option as a player to leave the club – and he wants to do exactly that.”

Coutinho 'doesn't like Klopp one bit'

Castles’ report makes for pretty grim reading for Liverpool fans. Apparently, Coutinho’s relationship with Klopp has sunk to the point where “he does not like the manager one bit”.

And while Coutinho would prefer a peaceful departure, his attempts to leave have been met by “Klopp’s repeated push for frontal war”.

“He has been trying to play the hard man,” the source said about the German, who is apparently trying to make an example of Coutinho.

Liverpool players think Coutinho will leave

It is believes some of Coutinho’s teammates expect the Brazil international to depart before the transfer window shuts.

The former Inter Milan player is yet to appear for the Reds this season and even Klopp has admitted he has “no idea” when he will return.

If Coutinho gets his wish, he won’t ever return to the Liverpool side.
