Wycombe boss Gary Waddock will be without veteran Gareth Ainsworth for the visit of fellow strugglers Stockport.

Ainsworth missed the 1-0 defeat at Southampton in midweek after picking up a calf injury in training and will again sit out as the Chairboys look to pull ahead of the Hatters.

Both clubs are in the relegation zone but Waddock could recall midfielder Scott Davies in a boost to his attacking options.

The on-loan Reading man was only on the bench at St Mary's on Tuesday after collecting a knock in the win over Brentford but is now fit to start.

Defender Leon Johnson had an operation on his hip complaint on Thursday and will be out for several months while midfielder Lewis Montrose is also out after surgery on his knee.

Chris Westwood and Matt Bloomfield have hamstring injuries and are not yet ready to feature.

Stockport boss Gary Ablett again looks set to be without Oli Johnson.

The striker has missed the last two games with a knee injury, which is almost certain to keep him on the sidelines.

However, on-loan Reading striker Nicholas Bignall has been passed fit after a hamstring problem.

Defender Johnny Mullins and midfielder David Poole are also available after illness but County head to Adams Park on the back of a dismal run of six successive defeats in League One.

They reside in the drop zone along with Wycombe but Ablett believes it is only a matter of time before their luck starts to turn.

He said: "The players have to remain full of self-belief."
