Grimsby boss Neil Woods is mulling over whether to recall Rob Atkinson for the home clash with Dagenham.
The centre-back has sat out the last three matches through suspension and in his absence the Mariners have kept two clean sheets.
Paul Linwood has stepped in to perform impressively alongside loan star Olly Lancashire, but Woods admitted: "We all know what Rob can do - the high standard he has set is proven so it gives me a big call to make whether to bring him back in."
However, Woods is without two defenders as his side bid to end a dismal run of 11 games without a league win.
Joe Widdowson (foot) is still short of full fitness while Bradley Wood has a swollen ankle after limping away from a midweek reserve match against Scunthorpe.
Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still will have forward Josh Scott back as he looks for a return to winning ways.
Scott has missed the last two games with an ankle injury but has reported fit and should replace Jon Nurse in attack alongside Paul Benson.
Stuart Thurgood is also fit again after a thigh strain and he will replace Adam Miller in the centre of the Daggers midfield as Still looks to bounce back from the 5-2 thrashing at home to Aldershot on Tuesday night.
Jamie Day endured a torrid debut at left-back after signing on loan from Peterborough but will keep his place while fellow defender Scott Doe returns after a one-match suspension.
Striker Wesley Thomas misses the third and final game of his suspension as the Daggers look for a first win in four games to revive their title challenge.
