Mexican Boxing superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is set for the long-awaited fight with Gennady “GGG” Golovkin on September 16 at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.

With the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight just around the corner, the attention of boxing fans is still on "The Money fight", but when those curtains close and the excuses are over, people will turn to the real fight.

Canelo Alvarez is set to finally take on middleweight champion Golovkin in a mega fight showdown this September. The two teams have been negotiating for years, with "GGG" trying to make the clash happen and Canelo being accused of ducking Golovkin.

Finally, an agreement was reached earlier this year and the "Supremacy" fight was announced after Alvarez defeated Julio César Chávez Jr. via UD early in May.

The fight is really exciting; both men have promised to go forwards trade bombs and they are famous for they clinical punches and high ring IQ.

The attractive styles they possess are the reason behind their huge fanbase, and the combined record of 86-1 (67 KOs) they hold guarantees excitement. The only loss is on Canelo`s side, beaten by Floyd Mayweather in 2013, when he was still young and not quite experienced enough to deal with "Money".

Now, Canelo looks more like the complete fighter, his speed and counter punches, combined with his sharp and powerful punches, make him a scary opponent. Golovkin, on the other hand, has never tasted defeat and is famous for his frightening power and the constant pressure he puts on his opponents. His KO record - 33 out of 34 matches - is a proof of the above.

In a video posted on Twitter by BoxNation recently, Alvarez looks in frightening condition during his training camp. He is in perfect shape, showing speed, body movement and power that might have GGG worried. It is obvious that the Mexican and his team take the fight really serious and are preparing for a war.

Golovkin himself is preparing for the big drama show in The Summit Boxing Training Center at Big Bear mountain. He was accused by Conor McGregor for being "woefully out of shape" before his camp.

However, GGG comfortably met the WBC’s 30-day weight check, hitting 170lbs on the scales. This is heavier than he has weighed for his last few fights though.

Golovkin was 165lbs for Jacobs, 165lbs for Brook, 164lbs for Wade, and 165lbs for Lemieux on the 30-day weight check. This might indicate that he plans to oppose more power to Canelo`s speed.
