Kris Boyd edged closer to Henrik Larsson's Clydesdale Bank Premier League goalscoring record when he brought his own tally to 151 - moving within seven goals of the Celtic legend - with a double in the 3-1 win over Falkirk.

But the Rangers striker was denied his hat-trick when he was substituted just two minutes before the Scottish champions were handed a penalty which was converted by Kenny Miller instead.

Pedro Moutinho had pulled a goal back for the SPL bottom side but Walter Smith's men held on for a 3-1 win which allowed them to return to the summit ahead of Celtic's clash with Aberdeen later in the day.
