Ray Borg is preparing for the biggest fight of his career.

He is scheduled to challenge Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title at the UFC 215 PPV (pay-per-view) event. Borg is very confident while coming into this fight. He believes that he is going to take the title from Johnson but also thinks that he will end Johnson’s career in the process.

As to why Borg thinks he can do the unthinkable? Well, it’s pretty clear. He thinks that “Mighty Mouse” is slowing down as he gets older and participates in more fights. He also pointed out that Johnson’s time is over and that he plans to show the longtime champion the exit door from fighting.

Johnson, who has defeated top names in his division and is arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, is the company’s longest-reigning current titleholder at just under four years.

He holds 10 successful defenses, which ties former middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s title-defense record. Johnson is widely talked about as No. 1 pound-for-pound MMA fighter.

“For the sport, he’s getting old, especially as long as his title reign has been,” Borg told MMAjunkie at Thursday’s UFC 215 media day. “He’s never been in any crazy wars, but people don’t realize that you don’t have to be in a war to be getting taxed on your body and stuff like that. Training camp does enough of it. Going through as many training camps as this guy’s gone through, he’s getting older. He’s getting to the end of his career, and I think I’ll go ahead and put a stop to the end of his career for him.”

“After watching some of (Johnson’s) previous fights, seeing how he is evolving, getting into his older years, coming into his career, I just know that I can do it,” Borg said. “Especially after his past few fights. I just know I’m the guy to do it.”
