So, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back at Manchester United.

The Swede took the Premier League by storm last season, scoring 17 goals in 28 matches after arriving on a free transfer.

But after the 35-year-old suffered a serious knee injury playing for United against Anderlecht in the Europa League in April, many believed his career could be over.

But this is Zlatan we’re talking about and he was soon back on his feet working hard to return to football as soon as possible.

And his miraculous recovery has seen Jose Mourinho give him another chance by handing him a new contract at Old Trafford. He might not be match fit until 2018, but Mourinho is adamant Zlatan can play a big role for the club this season as they compete on all four fronts.

And while Ibrahimovic has been getting fit, it seems he’s been watching the start of the Premier League campaign.

He’d have been impressed with the way United have started - winning both their games 4-0 with Romelu Lukaku scoring three goals.

Zlatan's prediction

And the legendary striker has seen enough action to predict the league’s top six come the end of the season.

Of course, he thinks United will finish top but it’s rather interesting who else he includes in the top six - leaving out one big club.

"In the Premier League there are many [rivals], which are the top six let’s say, they will give a hard time for everybody," Ibrahimovic told ESPN.

"Like last season Chelsea was the best team, they won. You’ll still have Chelsea, you have Liverpool, I think Everton are not to underestimated because they have a great coach and they are investing a lot to win.

"And obviously you have Arsenal, [Manchester] City. So I think it will look like last year but this year the Red Devils will be on top."

No Spurs?

What about Spurs?

Mauricio Pochettino has made a slow start to the transfer window but added Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez to the squad for a club record £42 million this week.

They’re also expected to complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier and Pochettino has admitted that he’s “working hard to bring more players in.”

Despite that - and the fact they finished second last season - Zlatan clearly thinks that seventh is the best they can hope for this season.

Controversial.
