You couldn’t blame Bournemouth fans for fearing the worst heading into their clash with Manchester City. After losses to West Brom and Watford into their opening two matches without scoring a goal, Pep Guardiola’s side were probably at the bottom of the list of teams Eddie Howe wanted to play. After all, they’ve failed to pick up a single point during the four matches against the Citizens since their promotion to the Premier League - conceding 15 goals in the process. However, this is the Premier League and things don’t always go as expected.Instead, the Cherries were magnificent in the first-half and they looked to pick up their first points of the campaign. But the goal to give them the lead was just ridiculous. The ball was bobbling around the City and it fell nicely to Charlie Daniels on the left side of the penalty area. But rather than control it and find a teammate with a simple pass, he decided to just put his foot through it.And we don’t think the defender has hit a ball sweeter in his life as it flew off his foot and off the underside of bar into the back of the net.

Just take a look:

Twitter went mental

And here is how Twitter reacted to the screamer:

But Bournemouth weren’t able to hold onto their lead for too long. Just eight minutes later, City had equalised.

David Silva’s beautiful pass found Gabriel Jesus who slotted home past Asmir Begovic.
