An interesting couple of days await Arsenal in the 2017 summer transfer window. Not only is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly set to leave the Gunners for Chelsea or Liverpool, but Shkodran Mustafi has agreed to sign for Inter Milan. The German only joined Arsenal from Valencia last summer for £35 million but, for reasons unknown, is on his way out.Arsene Wenger has made some bizarre transfer decisions throughout his time as Arsenal manager and the proposed sale of Mustafi is no different.Fans will only hope the Frenchman has a decent replacement lined up, such as want-away Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. And then you have Alexis Sanchez, who looks like he will be staying at the Emirates Stadium but still hasn't signed a new contract. There are rumours the Chilean wants to see out the remaining 12 months of his deal and leave on a free next summer, but Wenger wants to tie him down at some point this season."We are in a very simple state," he said, per Sky Sports. "He has one year to go and I want him to stay. And if possible, during the season, extend the contract."Riyad Mahrez and Julian Draxler have both been tipped as potential replacements for Sanchez and now a new name has been thrown into the mix.According to various sources, albeit unreliable ones, Arsenal are planning to trigger Marco Asensio's buyout clause at Real Madrid.Arsenal fans would love to sign the 21-year-old and now Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has responded to the rumours.Simply put, there's "no chance of it happening".In the tweets below, Balague claims Asensio has no intention of leaving Real and that he's due to sign a new contract, which Arsenal are well aware of.

He wrote: "On Asensio and Arsenal. No chance of it happening. The buy out clause is higher than £78m, but confidential (Real says is "dissuasive").

"More importantly, Asensio has got not intention of leaving Real Madrid at all. He'll renew his contract soon. Arsenal know it.

"Arsenal was in touch with Asensio before he signed for Real Madrid. His agent played with Arsenal till the Real offer materialised."

Sorry Arsenal fans, it sounds like the rumours are absolute rubbish.
