Arsenal headed to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon having not won any of their last four Premier League meetings against the Reds.It was a clean sweep for Jurgen Klopp's men last season, with a 3-1 win coming at Anfield back in March and the Reds were looking to do the something similar this time around.Neither of the Premier League title challengers had been able to make the perfect start to the season, as they both looked to close in on Premier League leaders Manchester United.Arsene Wenger was able to welcome back want-away star man Alexis Sanchez to the Gunners line-up, at the expense of club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette.Meanwhile, Klopp dropped Simon Mignolet from his match day squad entirely, in favour of second-choice goalkeeper Loris Karius. However, for all of the uncertainties surrounding Liverpool at the back, it was the Gunners defensive frailties that were exposed first at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.Petr Cech was forced into making an excellent save at close range from Reds' record signing Mohamed Salah after just 10 minutes, but the Arsenal man's good work was soon undone.Joe Gomez whipped in a delightful cross for Roberto Firmino to head home after Cech could only get the faintest of touches on the ball.

Arsenal fans criticise defensive disaster

A great start after 17 minutes for the hosts, but a poor one for defender Rob Holding.

The 21-year-old simply watched on as Firmino freely ran into space to head home - much to the delight of Klopp, but the pain of Wenger.

And Arsenal fans were quick to slam the England under-21 for his failure at the back to at least make it difficult for the Liverpool forward who headed in the opening goal.

Holding accountable for first-half goals

And the Bolton academy graduate was again condemned, as Sadio Mane cooly switched onto his right foot to fire a low show into the far corner to make it 2-0 to the Reds five minutes before half time.

Wenger no doubt went into the break with a headache about what to tell his players after a poor first half, while Klopp's men made a great impression in the opening 45 minutes.

A half-time analysis could suggest it could be a long second half for Arsenal.
