The Boston Celtics pulled off the shock trade of the summer as they acquired Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Isaiah Thomas. It came as a huge surprise that the Celtics were willing to offload the dynamic point guard who led the team to the Eastern Conference finals last season and was an MVP candidate. IT enjoyed his best ever campaign as he averaged a career-high 28.9 points per game and also shot a career-best 46.3 percent from the field. In his two and a half years in Boston, Thomas became a two-time All-Star and also made it onto the All-NBA team. He was adored by the Boston fans and he formed a special connection with the entire city as he blossomed into a star. But the C's felt an opportunity to bring in a player like Irving was too good to turn down and made the decision to part with Isaiah. He is due to become a free agent in 2018 and is also recovering from a hip injury that ended his season against the Cavs in the conference finals.According to his Hall of Fame namesake Isiah Thomas, the trade has left the 5'9" guard "wounded" and in a bad emotional state. The 28-year-old hasn't spoken publicly about the trade, but he seems to be expressing his frustration towards the Celtics in other ways. According to a Twitter user, IT has taken to NBA 2k17 to gain some revenge on Boston using the Cavaliers. The user uploaded an image showing Isaiah beating the Celtics via his Xbox account 'MrIT4'.

Of course, there's no definitive way to know if it was the player himself, but it's certainly interesting to see.

Awkwardly for both Thomas and Boston, there are reports that the deal could be voided by Cleveland due to revelations about the severity of his hip injury.

He underwent a physical examination with the team on Friday and there are serious doubts about whether he'll be ready for the start of the new season.

According to ESPN, Thomas is still not running and with all players due to report back to training camp next month, his chances of recovering in time are slim.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs are seeking an extra trade asset from their rivals in order to complete this deal.

That could either be another first-round draft pick or potentially Jaylen Brown or rookie Jayson Tatum.

The Ohio-based outfit has a deadline of Thursday to submit the results of his medical to the league and therefore we are sure to see more developments as the week progresses.
