Signed on loan from Inter Milan this summer, Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has no interest in making friends in Madrid.

The 24-year-old Frenchman scored a fine goal as Valencia secured a shock point at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently suspended for shoving a referee but two brilliant goals from 21-year-old Marco Asensio saved Madrid's blushes in their opening home game of the season.

The Portuguese superstar was dismayed at receiving a five-game ban for his misbehaviour in the Spanish Super Cup victory over Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane's all-conquering side obviously still rely on the 32-year-old current holder of the Ballon d'Or.

On Friday, the young French coach commented on rumours that Ronaldo would leave Real Madrid.

"There has been a lot of talk but no substance," Zidane told reporters. "Cristiano is here and he's not going to leave.

"This is his club, his city, his team and I think he's very happy to be here and with everything he's got here. I have no doubt when it comes to that."

Kondogbia weighs in on the Messi-Ronaldo debate without being asked

Valencia loanee Kondogbia delivered a pretty damning response to a question about Cristiano Ronaldo after Sunday night's 2-2 draw.

A journalist asked Kondogbia to comment on the absence of the former Manchester United winger, "The best player was missing..."

As per Spanish newspaper Sport, The Frenchman cheekily responded: "I did not know Messi played in Madrid."

Messi and Ronaldo have undoubtedly been the two greatest footballers of their generation, if not the entire history of the game.

Between them, they've won each of the last nine Ballon d'Or awards and have been the driving forces of the two biggest clubs on the planet, since Ronaldo moved to Spain in 2009.

The Real Madrid man is the huge favourite to claim his fifth Ballon d'Or after some incredible performances on the biggest stage during last season's Champions League knockout rounds.

Ronaldo scored two in the final against Juventus, three in the semi-final against Atletico Madrid and five in the quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

At last week's 2017/18 Champions League group stage draw, the veteran forward was endowed with the UEFA Player of the Year award.

Kondogbia should probably do the talking on the pitch - that's what the best players do.
