Heading into the final few days of the summer transfer window, Liverpool are determined to finish it with a flourish.Much of the talk over the last few weeks has revolved around Philippe Coutinho. Will he or won't he end up a Barcelona player this season? But quietly in the background, Jurgen Klopp has been trying to further improve the depth of his playing squad by trying to get one or two more deals over the line. And it appears there has been a huge breakthrough with one of his biggest targets. The Reds have been trying to secure the signature of highly-rated midfielder Naby Keita throughout the summer.Despite making two very serious bids, it looked like any potential agreement with RB Leipzig was impossible to achieve given the Bundesliga side's understandable reluctance to sell. However, Paul Joyce of The Times has just stirred the story back into life with a couple of tweets that are guaranteed to make Liverpool supporters very, very excited. He posted: "Liverpool agree club record deal with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita which will see him sign NEXT SUMMER."Keita having medical today. Officially joins on July 1, 2018. Lvpl paid premium now on top of next summer’s £48million release clause."

So Keita to Liverpool is actually happening after all. This summer window has been totally mad!

Of course, fans will have to wait 12 months before they get to see Keita strut his stuff at Anfield but there is no doubt Klopp and co. have pulled off a brilliant coup.

The exact fee is not yet known, however, the Reds' last rejected offer was believed to be in the region of £66m so it is wise to assume Keita has cost somewhere north of that figure.

This move could potentially increase the speculation regarding Coutinho's future but with Keita - and potentially Thomas Lemar from Monaco - incoming, life after the Brazilian isn't looking too shabby at all.
