It's been over a week now since SummerSlam took place, and most fans have come to the conclusion that the show as a whole was largely underwhelming and forgettable apart from a couple of matches.

One of those matches was the Fatal 4-Way main event between Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe for the Universal Championship. The Beast managed to retain his title by pinning The Big Dog in the middle of the ring.

While the finish itself has drawn much attention as it's not every day you see Reigns being pinned clean in the middle of the ring, there has been much praise on WWE allowing the four superstars involved to hit their finishers and signatures at least once in the match that only lasted a short period.

Strowman used his Running Powerslam multiple times on Lesnar, Reigns used his Spear and Superman Punch, Joe used the Coquina Clutch, and Lesnar used the Suplex and F-5 to great effect all in the space of the 20-minute match.

The man responsible for this successful exchange of signatures and finishers is Paul Heyman, according to reports.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, via Ringside News, Heyman influence on the Fatal 4-Way can be seen as there is a significant concentration on the superstars hitting their iconic moves that are over with the audience in order to keep the fans intrigued into the match.

If you watched the event, you know that this is true and it was used to great effect, as the main event was a top quality match filled with amazing spots that helped to keep the fans interested after what had been a rather dull SummerSlam to that point.

In the WWE, moments are what fans remember the most, rather than exchanges between two superstars during matches. That's what made the Attitude Era so famous and it's something which Heyman brought into this match.

Everybody remembers Strowman running powerslamming Lesnar into two announce tables and tossing a third on top of him. It's certainly something fans will be hoping to see again when the two face one another in the main event of No Mercy next month, so hopefully Heyman has an influence on that match as well.
