With less than 36 hours of the transfer window remaining, there are a handful of deals dominating the headlines.Alexis Sanchez’s potential move to Manchester City, Barcelona’s continued pursuit of Philippe Coutinho while Liverpool and Chelsea are battling it out for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.With those three stories dominating the news, it’s easy for other transfers to go relatively unnoticed - such as Tottenham’s pursuit of Serge Aurier.Spurs are on the verge of completing a £22 million deal for the Paris Saint-Germain right back to replace Kyle Walker - who left for Manchester City earlier this summer. The Ivorian is waiting on a work permit but his latest tweet suggests that he has finally been granted one.

Aurier had to be given the green light due to a criminal conviction he received last year. The Ivorian was given a suspended two-month prison sentence for the assault of a police officer outside a Paris nightclub, which he appealed against.

However, the French courts have now downgraded his offence, meaning he was able to apply for a normal work permit.

But even before he’s officially announced as a Tottenham player, Arsenal fans are already making fun of their north London rivals.

Gooners have dug out two images of Aurier wearing an Arsenal shirt, as well as discovering a tweet that reads: “Arsenal one day arsenal always #Gunners.”

Aurier's tweet from 2013

Aurier posted these tweets back in 2013 when he was still a Toulouse player but it seems as though Aurier is very much an Arsenal fan.

Arsenal fans react

And Arsenal fans have wasted no time in letting Spurs know. Check out the reaction:

However, just like Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain, it looks as Aurier is willing to turn his back on his Arsenal loyalties to further his career.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side haven’t made the greatest start of the new campaign after a defeat to Chelsea and a draw against Burnley at Wembley.

Aurier is expected to compete with Kieran Trippier in the right-back position as they look to get over their Wembley woes.
