Leeds pair Bradley Johnson and Shane Higgs have returned to full training following long-term injury.
Midfielder Johnson, whose form this season has brought him to the attention of USA coach Bob Bradley, has missed the last six matches due to a hip injury.
Goalkeeper Higgs, a free summer signing from Cheltenham, has been restricted to 13 first-team appearances due to a thigh problem.
Manager Simon Grayson said: "They've made good progress and they both joined us again this week, although it's still very early yet.
"They need to do some more work first and we'll see how things progress."
Richard Naylor, sidelined with a calf injury since early November, is also edging closer to a return.
