Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson will be forced to reshuffle his starting XI for the visit of struggling Grimsby.
Full-back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff serves a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Fellow defender Kelvin Langmead and midfielder Paul Murray are both on four yellows apiece and will have to watch their step.
Leading goalscorer Dave Hibbert, who missed out at Dean Court, continues to struggle with a hamstring strain and is again likely to miss out. Youngster Jake Simpson, son of manager Paul, is also struggling with growing pains in his knees and faces a couple of weeks on the sidelines.
Strikers Jake Robinson and Nathan Elder are both carrying knocks but the Shrews boss is hopeful they will recover in time.
That leaves Craig Disley (knee) and Lewis Neal (calf) on the sidelines, although the pair are hoping to make reserve-team returns next week, while Chris Neal (broken finger) has been told he can go back to training on December 22.
There remains no update on when Mike Jackson (bone bruising) or Glyn Garner (shoulder) will be able to make their comebacks.
Grimsby hope to have defender Joe Widdowson and midfielder Bradley Wood back in contention.
Widdowson has been out for almost three weeks with a foot injury while Wood missed the home draw against Dagenham with an ankle problem. Both players resumed training on Thursday and will be included in the squad as long as they suffer no reaction.
Mark Hudson will miss out and could remain absent for the visit of Morecambe next weekend after tweaking a hamstring playing for the reserves this week.
Striker Nathan Jarman continues to make progress in his recovery from a broken metatarsal but Matt Heywood has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury and faces an extended spell on the sidelines, along with fellow defenders Robbie Stockdale (hernia) and Nick Hegarty (ankle).
Stockdale is back in training and making good progress while it is hoped Hegarty will resume training next week.
