United fail to take advantage against Villa

Aston Villa survived a late Manchester United onslaught to claim a 1-0 victory which was their first Old Trafford win since 1983.

Needing victory to move level at the top with Chelsea, Gabriel Agbonlahor's first-half effort instead left United three points adrift.

Villa are now third in the Barclays Premier League as they added United to the scalps of Chelsea and Liverpool this season.
