Barnsley boss Mark Robins felt a point was the least his side deserved after Bobby Hassell's late equaliser earned a 2-2 draw with Coca-Cola Championship leaders Newcastle.
Hassell struck in the 87th minute to extend Barnsley's unbeaten run to six matches.
Robins said: "It was really pleasing because we didn't deserve to take nothing from the game."
He added: "We got off to a bad start, the worst possible start where we conceded early on. You just hoped that we didn't get too damaged by that early goal.
"We got a point and it could have been better than that had we had a little bit more composure from Andy Gray, who was outstanding and that's probably his best game since I came to the club."
