Shakespeare salutes hero Howard

Published Add your comment

Leicester assistant boss Craig Shakespeare paid tribute to Steve Howard after the striker inspired the Foxes to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

With Martyn Waghorn suspended, Howard was handed his first start since October 20 and scored City's opener in the eighth minute with a close-range header from Matt Fryatt's cross.

Shakespeare was delighted with Howard's display and said: "All the staff are delighted for Steve. He came into the fray and scored his first goal of the season and we hope he can kick on from here."

He added: "We thought Howard playing with Matty Fryatt was the right format and you could plainly see that they enjoyed playing together."
