Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will find that his performances are more scrutinised than ever before following his £35 million transfer from Liverpool to Arsenal. The 24-year-old, who completed his move to Anfield on transfer deadline day last week, will be under pressure to live up to that hefty price tag and prove that Arsene Wenger was wrong not to make him a focal point of his Arsenal side."I know my choice might come as a surprise to many, and the decision to leave was tough after being a part of the club for so many years, but I feel that this move is right for the next stage in my ongoing development, " he said in an Instagram post last week.Oxlade-Chamberlain played his first match in England since completing his move to Liverpool against Slovakia this evening. And his name was jeered by a few of the fans inside Wembley - presumably Arsenal supporters - when his name was read out by the stadium announcer.

There will inevitably be some Arsenal fans who hope that Oxlade-Chamberlain flops at Liverpool and lives to regret his decision - especially after the abysmal performance he put in against the Reds at Anfield before the international break.

Quite why Wenger thought deploying the former Southampton starlet in that match, however, is perhaps the more pertinent point.
