There’s no doubt that Dele Alli is one of the most talented English footballers of his generation. The 21-year-old Tottenham and England midfielder has all the tools required to become one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders. However, if there’s one thing that has let him down from time to time during his career so far it’s his temper.Alli has been involved in several altercations with various players and admitted back in March, after he was handed a three-match ban for an awful tackle against Gent in the Europa League, that he needed to keep his temper ‘under control’.“There has been a lot said about me and my aggression,” he was quoted as saying by the Telegraph at the time. “But it is not something I am going to look to change.“But I have got to keep improving and learning. Not to play with less aggression, but how I react in different situations is something I am looking to improve. I have been working on it - hopefully people can see that.“That’s the player I am and I’ve always been like that since I was younger. It’s about getting it under control and I think I have been doing that.”

Alli was caught doing something naughty v Slovakia

However, Alli is still very young and will continue to make mistakes.

He made another on Monday night while playing for England against Slovakia at Wembley - and he could find himself in more hot water.

Alli was caught showing the middle finger to someone on the pitch - presumably a Slovakia player - and ITV’s cameras didn’t miss the incident.

England seal 2-1 victory

England moved another step closer to booking their place at next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Slovakia took the lead in the third minute but goals either side of half-time from Eric Dier and Marcus Rashford earned a precious three points for Gareth Southgate’s side.
