Liverpool fans will finally get the chance to see deadline day signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in action on Saturday when they travel to the Etihad Stadium. The £35 million arrival from Arsenal is likely to be thrown straight into Jurgen Klopp's squad for the clash against Man City after the international break.Oxlade-Chamberlain's switch was arguably one of the most controversial deals done towards the end of the summer window as, just days after suffering defeat with Arsenal at Anfield, he turned down bigger contract offers from the Gunners and Chelsea to become a Liverpool player. The 24-year-old had grown frustrated at his lack of progress at the Emirates and had started the campaign being forced to play in his unpreferred position at wing-back.With less than a year to run on his contract, Wenger had little choice but to sell up and the former Southampton ace is now hoping to get a good run as a central-midfielder on Merseyside. However, it isn't all good news for Klopp as the Liverpool boss provided a worrying update on the fitness of Nathaniel Clyne.Clyne hasn't featured since the Reds' first pre-season game against Tranmere after picking up a back problem. And Klopp has refused to put a timescale on his return to fitness.“Nathaniel is working hard on his rehab and we have kept a close eye on his progress, but the reality is we are looking at some time still before he is back and available for selection," the German said.“I am told it will be longer than just a couple of weeks, so we will continue to monitor and assess.“It is pretty certain he'll not be available for the majority of the Champions League group matches. If we are fortunate enough to still be in UEFA competition in the New Year he could be added to the squad then."Of course, it has led to the question: who will continue to fill in during Clyne's absence? Some Arsenal fans have tried to cheer themselves up by cheekily suggesting Klopp use his latest signing as cover - after all, he does have some experience playing there.

Even the brilliant parody account Boring James Milner waded in:

Luckily for Oxlade-Chamberlain, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have both been utilised as Clyne's replacement so far this season and you would assume the Liverpool boss will continue to rotate them in the meantime.
