The time of the year has come once again for avid Fifa lovers to be welcomed with the sight of EA Sports announcing the new and updated player ratings. The 2018 edition of the game is scheduled for release on September 29 and on the EA Sports' official Twitter account, the first 20 player ratings were released on Tuesday. They will be released in order, starting from 100-81 and already, their choices are sparking a lot of controversy. One man is attracting a lot of attention; Liverpool's Sadio Mane. The former Southampton man was a revelation for Liverpool last season, being voted into the PFA Team of the Year and it was expected he would get a big boost in his rating.Mane was initially rated 79 in Fifa 17, before being bumped up to 82 in January and for the new game, he has received an 84 rating. Not bad, but Liverpool fans were up in arms about one thing.Along with Mane, Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan had his new rating announced and amazingly, he was one higher than the Senegalese international.Naturally, as soon as EA Sports released them to the world, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to voice their rage.

LIVERPOOL FANS ARE FUMING

They're not a happy bunch and to be fair, you can understand why.

Mkhitaryan may have enjoyed a fruitful start to the 2017/18 campaign, recording five assists in just three games, but last season, he was extremely underwhelming.

In fact, he recorded just one Premier League assist all season and in the early stages of the campaign, it looked as if Jose Mourinho had made a huge mistake in buying him.

There were some other interesting ratings handed out by EA Sports, with Real Madrid prodigy Marco Asensio and Dele Alli receiving the same rating as Mane.

Here is a full list of the 20 ratings released.
