Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies promised there is more to come from his side after they extended their unbeaten run to 14 games with a 3-0 win over Preston at the City Ground.
Forest are now level on points with second-placed West Brom in the Championship table, but after cruising to victory over his former side, Davies argued: "We are far from the finished article.
"We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, a lot of tough games and times to come but I am delighted with the way we are developing."
He added: "There is a fantastic mentality in the dressing room - a great mix of youth and experience - but nobody is getting carried away.
"Promotion has not been spoken of because everyone knows that we are work in progress and I stand by what I said that the aim for us is to have a strong mid-table finish."
