Watford boss Malky Mackay wants to hang onto goalkeeper Scott Loach when the January transfer window opens.
England Under-21 international Loach is expected to move to a Premier League club in the New Year with Tottenham thought to be among the interested clubs. But after Watford's financial crisis was sorted out last week, the club are no longer desperate to sell and Mackay feels Loach would be better off staying put.
Mackay said: "Scott will move to a big club, but I don't want to lose him yet. Another year here will do him a lot more good than sitting on a Premier League bench."
