Preston North End Vs Barnsley, Sat 26 Dec 2009

The Scotland international picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Wallace now serves a one-match ban and could be replaced in the starting line-up by Darren Carter or Velice Shumulikoski.

North End skipper Callum Davidson came off in the closing stages of the Forest defeat with cramp in his hamstring but should be fit for the visit of Barnsley.

French centre-back Youl Mawene remains sidelined until the new year after damaging knee ligaments in the recent home defeat against Newcastle.

Midfielder Barry Nicholson is also out until next year as he recovers from a broken leg.

Barnsley will be without on-loan defender Ryan Shotton through suspension.

Stoke centre-half Shotton will return early to the Britannia Stadium after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's draw at Crystal Palace.

Stoke team-mate Carl Dickinson, who has also spent the last three months on loan at Oakwell, will play his last match for the Tykes at Deepdale as his loan spell also ends after the match.

Stephen Foster, an unused substitute at Palace after recently recovering from a gashed eye, is expected to return to the starting line-up.

Striker Daniel Bogdanovic is also in contention. The Malta international limped out of the action last Saturday with a hamstring strain, but returned to full training this week.
