Colchester were 2-1 winners following their Coca-Cola League One clash at Southend.

Goals early in the second half from Philip Ifil and Anthony Wordsworth put them two up before Lee Barnard's consolation.

Yeovil thumped struggling Wycombe 4-0 thanks to goals from Kieran Murtagh, JP Kalala, Jonathan Obika and Sam Williams.

Brentford won 1-0 at Gillingham as both sides finished the match with 10 men.

Ben Strevens scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute, while Gillingham's Josh Gowling (50) and the Bees' Charlie MacDonald (65) both saw red after the break.

Brighton had Andrew Crofts sent off in the 70th minute but held on for a goalless draw at home to fellow strugglers Leyton Orient.

Leeds were 3-1 winners over Hartlepool, for whom Armann Bjornsson opened the scoring, while the games between Bristol Rovers and Walsall and Carlisle and Huddersfield fell victim to frozen pitches.
