Reading goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen has revealed he is keen to stay on loan at Bristol Rovers until the end of the season to boost his chances of a World Cup spot with Denmark.

Andersen has penned a one-month loan extension with a view to signing a deal until the end of the campaign once the present managerial situation has been sorted out at the Madejski Stadium.

"I want to be involved in the Denmark squad, but to do that I have to be playing games - and hopefully that's what will happen if I can stay here for the rest of the season," he told the Evening Post.

"If the national coach is coming over to watch me, I'll do whatever I can to get in the squad."
