Bent to stay with Boro

Marcus Bent's loan spell at Middlesbrough from Birmingham has been extended until January 16, the Premier League club have confirmed.

The 31-year-old joined Boro on a two-month emergency loan in October and in that time has started three games and appeared in four more as a substitute for the Teessiders.

He has also been cleared to play for Middlesbrough in their FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester City this weekend.
