Wycombe manager Gary Waddock has raided former club Aldershot for central defender Adam Hinshelwood.

Hinshelwood has struggled to regain his place in the Shots side since returning from a knee injury and has joined the League One side on a free transfer until the end of the season. He goes straight into the squad to face Norwich on Saturday.

Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon said: "Due to the strength that we have in the central defensive area I could not guarantee him a starting place.

"Since I have been at the club he has been terrific. He was unfortunate to sustain an injury and lose his place because everybody who has played at the heart of the defence has been excellent. I wish Adam all the best for the future."

Hinshelwood said: "This all happened out of the blue really. Although I was only at Aldershot Town for a short period I really enjoyed my time at the club and I hope that they can go on and get promoted now.

"I leave the club with fond memories but this is a good opportunity for me at Wycombe and in the next month or so we will be facing the likes of Norwich, Leeds and Charlton. It is a real challenge to try to help keep the club in League One but I am always up for a challenge."
