Rochdale boss Keith Hill will be without midfielder Jason Taylor for the home clash with Rotherham.

Taylor is on loan from the Millers and is ineligible to face his parent club.

Hill has no new injury or suspension concerns but first-choice goalkeeper Kenny Arthur is still struggling with a back problem.

However, Manchester United stopper Tom Heaton has extended his loan at Spotland by a further month and he will continue between the posts.

Hill's men closed 2009 with a thumping 4-1 win against Morecambe at Spotland and go into the Rotherham game five points clear of second-placed Bournemouth and an impressive 14 points clear of fourth-placed Notts County.

Hill said: "We have the building blocks in place and now it's important to keep the forward momentum."

Rotherham defender Nick Fenton is still ruled out through suspension.

The Millers` last three matches have been postponed so Fenton is only now serving the third instalment of a four-match ban picked up for his second red card of the season against Burton Albion in early December.

Meanwhile, manager Ronnie Moore is still missing long-term absentees Dale Tonge, Paul Warne and Andy Liddell.

Tonge is training again after a foot injury and the Millers want him to get some reserve games under his belt before throwing him back into the first team.

Warne is still a way off from recovering from an ankle problem while Liddell is making good progress on his Achilles injury although no return date has been set yet.
