Everton duo John Ruddy and Lukas Jutkiewicz have extended their respective loan deals at Motherwell for another month.
Both are wanted on a long-term basis and the short extension allows more time for both clubs to discuss their futures during the transfer window.
"This extension gives us a little bit more time to get things sorted with Everton," said Motherwell general manager Leeann Dempster.
"We are very keen to keep both players but with the January transfer window promising to be busy for both clubs, this gives us a safety net to ensure the guys can play in our vital matches this month.
"John and Lukas have done exceptionally well for us in the first half of the season and they both enjoy it at the club.
"It's now a case of thrashing out a deal with Everton that works for both parties."
